Ode To Poems
Poems are
squeezed into
small spaces
that promise
much more than
first appears.
Rhythmic beats
multiply
stark letters
into words
portending
mind and heart.
Capturing
what is there
requires us
to wrestle
with both thought
and meaning.
Rich the one
who offers
another
so much life,
fresh new air
for living.
Richer one
who receives
the poet's
musings and
lives into
their promise.
