JIM HAWKINSON is a retired minister in The Evangelical Covenant Church, whose early education includes degrees from North Park Junior College (A.A,1949), Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois (B.A. Philosophy, 1951), and North Park Theological Seminary (B.D.1955, MDiv 1972). He also pursued graduate biblical studies at the University of Chicago (1959-1961), and was awadred an honorary Doctor of Divinity from North Park Seminary in 2006.
After serving several pastorates in Connecticut (Internship), Illinois, and California, he retired in 1994 after 24 years as executive secretary of publications and 28 years as editor in chief of all Covenant publications, including The Covenant Companion. Married to the former Alyce Larson of Kansas City, Missouri, they have been blessed with five children, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Moving to White Bear Lake, MN in 1995, while still helping to complete and publish The Covenant Hymnal: a Worshipbook (1996), he labored over the next six years to compile and edit an extensive anthology of voices from Covenant literature, with over 700 selections drawn from the mid-nineteenth century to the present titled Glad Hearts: the Joys of Believing and Challenges of Belonging (Covenant Publications, 2003. See link to “Resources” on the main website page).
      Together Jim and Alyce have also served interim pastorates ranging from Winnetka, IL, to such Twin City, Minnesota area churches as Bethany (Richfield), Roseville, Bloomngton, and Salem (New Brighton). Now members of Salem, Jim and Alyce continues to serve, he as part-time pastor of visitation and she in the choir, as accompanist for a children’s choir and, among other places, as needed in the kitchen.
CHRIS HAWKINSON is one of many Hawkinson grandchildren. He has grown up with an interest in computers and technology. This interest has followed him through his schooling and into his career.
Chris is currently living in Foster City, CA where he works for Lucasfilm as a Production Assistant.  Although his interest in computers may never subside he has changed direction in school and is currently working towards a Bachelors Degree in Film, at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Working to help get this site headed in the right direction, Chris hopes that his technical know-how will help assure the longevity of the site, and community.
