David Nyvall, the schoolman among us, founder and first president of North Park University, and E. August Skogsbergh, the very prominent evangelist among us--known in wider circles as “the Swedish Moody”--were actually brothers-in-law. Nonetheless, they had very different views on a lot of things, including prophecy. When told by his admirers that Nyvall did not share his view on such matters, Skogsbergh replied, “Well, Nyvall, you see, does not understand prophecy.” When A. E. Palmquist of St. Paul told that to the professor, he bent over in loud laughter and, striking his knees, declared, “Yes, I know, and in that respect at least we are both alike.”
